How to Show Customers You Still Care About Health and Safety

Sign showing we care about our customers

During the pandemic, the recommendations for businesses to maintain health and safety have frequently changed. Through all of this, business owners have been forced to come up with creative ways to serve their customers, while still respecting their comfort levels. There are plenty of ways to continue to show your customers you are protecting them while still connecting with them.

Give Them Options for Service

If you want to retain customers during this time and provide opportunities for new customers to patronize your business, you should give them different options for service. One way to do this is by offering curbside pickup. This allows customers to pick out what they want and purchase either online or on the phone and then have their purchased items placed in their car. This no-contact option helps customers feel safe. Another great option is offering no-contact delivery. This way, your goods can be left directly on their doormat without engaging with the deliverer.

Respect Health Recommendations

Customers want to know that you care about their health and safety, and a good way to do this is by respecting health recommendations. If masks are required or recommended in your area, having a mask policy or encouraging customers to wear masks will help them feel like you are concerned for them. Social distancing is another important method to slow the spread of disease. Signs help remind employees and customers to maintain a safe distance. You should also make sure your health and safety policies are promoted on your website and social media.

Host an Online Event

Online events give your customers something to enjoy from the safety of their own home. If you are a retailer, have a virtual event where you promote your latest products. Many kitchen stores have been offering virtual cooking shows which allow people to cook new things from home and be entertained. For store anniversary parties, invite all of your customers to the party online and sponsor contests or give out freebies. Online events are a good way to entertain your customers who may not be going out to events right now, while connecting with them.

In an ever-changing health situation, you want to make sure your customers feel safe. Make sure your policies are in line with public health recommendations, and that you find creative ways for your customers to stay engaged with your business. Being sensitive to your customers' needs during this difficult time will make sure they stay loyal to you in the long-run.
